5 Ways to Revamp Your Room for Less

Good Morning!
Lately, I've had the urge to change my room decor because it was getting too "familiar". However, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on redecorating my room either. So, I came up with some ideas to decorate, organize and add a little character to your room, without having to spend a fortune! I hope you enjoy and find these tips helpful!

1. Get rid of any old clothing: I know that this can be hard but it allows you to have more space for new clothes, right? If you haven't worn the clothing piece in over a year, it's a good sign that it may belong to a better home. I recommend donating to goodwill or any charity that accepts clothing donations. It is such a great feeling when you know that you are helping people who are less fortunate.

 2. Organize your Closet: Now that you have decluttered your closet, it is time to add some character! Make sure that you have a vision of how you want your closet to look before you "jump-in". I found it helpful to make a sketch of how I wanted to organize my closet and used it as a guide. To save money, I cleaned up an old bookshelf that wasn't being used and used it as a "shoe-shelf". Be creative! Oh and lights are optional. ;)

3. Try a DIY: Unfortunately, most Do-It-Yourself room decor projects can be quite expensive if you have to buy all of the materials. Good news! DIY collages are super cute and super free [as long as you have basic materials like paper, magazines, scissors, and glue, of course]. I love using "Seventeen" magazines because they tend to have tons of cute and inspirational images.

3. Display Magazines/ Books: Speaking of "Seventeen" Magazines... You can use them as decor by displaying them in your room. Here, I also used fashion magazines and my Beauty book, by Lauren Conrad, for extra "chicness". I think this is such a great way to decorate your room because it's so simple, yet it makes a huge difference.
4. Use a Filing System!: This tip is great if you have a desk in your room and want to organize any loose papers. This has made my life so much easier because I can find the papers that I'm looking for in a timely manner. You can even create files that say " ideas", and "inspiration" for extra fun.

5. Finally, Create your own Artwork: You can purchase a blank canvas in all different shapes and sizes from Michaels. Then brainstorm ideas or check out Pinterest for some inspiration. Personally, it took quite a while to trace the letters and to paint them but it was definitely worth the time. To design your canvas, all you need is acrylic paint, brushes and some patience!

Thanks for reading! I hope that I inspired you to redecorate and organize your room without having to spend a lot of money. Let me know how you keep your room organized and if you are going to try some of these tips.
Much Love,
Jenna Marie
